Welcome to Deiuokara (pronounced DAY-woh-karr-AH) .  I'm Tearlach Roibeard Luder. This web server has been the home of Celtic Nation USA, which began as a Celtic interest website back in December 1999. Since there are many links out there to CNUSA, perhaps you have traveled here from one of them and believe you are in the wrong place.  You are not; the Celtic Nation USA link is on the navigation link bar above.

Why the change? Through the years we have observed that there are many American websites that espouse Celtic Reconstruction, Reconstructionism or Restorationism, yet few are specifically dedicated to developing a modern spirituality based on continental Celtic-Indo European studies, comparisons, and models.

Using primarily the scholarly written works of Professor Garrett Olmstead and the esteemed Alexei Kondratiev,  Deiuokara is our attempt to construct a working polytheistic spirituality based on ancient Celtic-Indo European worldview.  Our site is a work in progress and we ask for your patience as it is grows.  Feel free to click on the subject links above as they are  developed to learn more about our path.

Deiuokara  (reverence of the divine) is the name we have given to our practice of honoring the Gods and Goddesses of the early Celts.  It is a modern construction of a polytheistic devotional path consisting of beliefs, customs & practices that are inspired, influenced, & balanced by the comparative study of relevant Pan-Celtic and Indo European history, culture, language, mythology, traditions, archaeology, as well as by the development of continuing spiritual direction from our Celtic Gods, Goddesses, & ancestors. We are a small group, mostly centered along the Gulf Coast USA between New Orleans and Pensacola, striving to learn Celtic languages and developing a Celtic worldview with regards to our spirituality and our relationships with the land and Deity.  We began learning to walk this path in early 1999 and it is certainly a journey, not just a destination. As with all journeys, there have been stumbles along the path, yet for those of us desirous of returning to the roots of our Celtic-Indo European heritage, there can be no other way.

Deiuokara is a spiritual path that involves:

Honoring Celtic Gods and Goddesses
Honoring one's Ancestors
Honoring the land and its spirits
Celebrating the cycles of Earth, Sun, Moon, and Tribe
Offerings
Prayer and Meditation
Developing a life immersed in Spirituality
Consecration of Life events
Regular Study of Celtic language, history, culture, traditions and folklore
